Local produce is at the heart of our seasonal menus, with a real focus on fish and fantastic flavours. We work closely with local suppliers for our food and drinks and have recently become a member of Hampshire Fare.

Our talented kitchen team is led by Executive Chef Simon Hartnett

“My ethos is to buy the best ingredients locally and draw on the modern food influences to create British food that reflects the melting pot of cultures and flavours,” he explained.

A team of highly skilled craftsmen created Restaurant 1865 and Dukes Bar. Both rooms were stripped right back to their original bones and re-layered with ornate plasterwork, heritage parquet flooring and infused with rare sea blue marble.

The stylish new look for the restaurant and bar has happened with the help of London design studio, Studio Kinford.

Having designed for such hotels as The Corinthia, The Connaught and London’s top private members’ lounge, the team focused on creating a ‘home away from home’ experience for guests using a balance of traditional bespoke furniture and mid-century vintage items, to harmonise and compliment the hotel’s Edwardian character.

Dukes Bar is the perfect place to meet-up with friends for cocktails or have a bite to eat over a working lunch. Overlooking the garden and with views to the beach beyond, Dukes Bar is the perfect spot to unwind over a drink or two…
